Rhythm Church values the trust you place in us. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it to serve people and operate our ministry, and the choices available to you.

Our plain-language commitment

We use personal information to care for people, respond to requests, provide church services, process generosity, communicate when permission has been given, and improve our website. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through Rhythm Church websites, online forms, and ministry communications that link to this policy. In this policy, "Rhythm Church," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Rhythm Church in Lexington, Kentucky.

This policy does not govern websites, apps, payment processors, social networks, or other services operated by third parties. Their privacy practices are controlled by their own policies.

2. Information we collect

We collect information that you choose to give us, including:

  • Contact information, such as your name, phone number, email address, or mailing address.
  • Visit information, such as who may attend with you, whether children or students are coming, and details that help our team prepare for your visit.
  • Ministry and next-step information, such as prayer requests, faith decisions, baptism interest, Bible-reading support, group interest, volunteer interest, and other care requests.
  • Communication preferences, including whether you have asked us to contact you by text message.
  • Giving and registration information submitted through third-party services such as Church Center or Planning Center. Rhythm Church may receive records such as your name, contact information, donation amount, designation, registration, and transaction status, but we do not receive or store your complete payment-card or bank-account credentials.

When you use our website, basic technical information may be collected automatically by our web host or embedded services. This can include your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages visited, and approximate location derived from an IP address. We do not currently use this website to build advertising profiles or serve targeted advertisements.

3. How we use information

We may use information to:

  • Respond to visit plans, prayer requests, questions, and ministry needs.
  • Provide pastoral care and connect people with appropriate Rhythm Church teams or resources.
  • Process and document donations, event registrations, and ministry participation.
  • Send confirmations, requested follow-up, church updates, or text messages when you have asked to receive them.
  • Operate, protect, troubleshoot, and improve our website and ministry systems.
  • Maintain records, prevent fraud or misuse, comply with law, and protect the safety and rights of people and Rhythm Church.

We may combine information collected through different interactions with Rhythm Church when doing so helps us respond appropriately or maintain accurate ministry records.

4. How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information only as reasonably necessary in the following circumstances:

  • Within Rhythm Church. Pastors, staff, and trusted volunteers may receive information when they need it to respond, provide care, or perform an assigned ministry role.
  • With service providers. We may use vendors that provide website hosting, forms, communications, payment processing, registrations, database tools, security, and related services. They may process information for us under their own terms and privacy commitments.
  • For safety and legal reasons. We may disclose information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, prevent harm, address suspected abuse or fraud, or protect the rights and safety of any person.
  • With your direction or consent. We may share information when you ask us to do so or when the purpose is otherwise clear when you provide it.
  • Organizational changes. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, reorganization, or similar change involving Rhythm Church, subject to applicable law.

5. Cookies and website technology

Our website and third-party content embedded in it may use cookies, local storage, pixels, or similar technologies needed to deliver content, remember preferences, prevent abuse, and understand basic website performance. Your browser may allow you to block or delete cookies, but some embedded content or site features may not work correctly afterward.

6. Online giving and registrations

Online giving and certain registrations are handled through Church Center, Planning Center, or another payment or registration provider. Those providers collect and process payment details under their own privacy policies and security practices. Rhythm Church generally receives transaction and donor records needed for administration, receipts, accounting, and ministry follow-up, but does not store complete card or bank credentials on this website.

7. Email and text messages

When you provide contact information, we may use it to respond to your request. We will send recurring promotional or ministry text messages only when you have given the appropriate permission. Consent to receive text messages is not required to attend, give, register, or participate at Rhythm Church.

Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. You may reply STOP to an automated text message to opt out and HELP for help. You may also contact us directly to update your preferences. Opting out of promotional messages does not prevent us from sending necessary, non-promotional responses or transaction-related notices.

8. Prayer requests and sensitive ministry information

Prayer requests, faith decisions, and pastoral-care details may reveal sensitive information, including religious beliefs, health concerns, or family circumstances. Providing this information is voluntary. We use it to respond to the request and may share it with appropriate pastors, staff, or trusted prayer and care volunteers.

Please do not submit information you do not want shared for those purposes. Although we treat ministry information with care, an online form is not a confidential counseling service, and we cannot promise absolute confidentiality. We may disclose information when required by law or when we reasonably believe someone may be at risk of harm.

9. Children and family information

Our general website is intended for a broad audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly ask children under 13 to submit personal information directly through this website. Parents or legal guardians may provide information about children for visit planning, check-in, events, allergies, accommodations, or ministry participation.

If you are under 18, please involve a parent or legal guardian before submitting information, registering, or giving online. If you believe a child has submitted personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can review and, when appropriate, delete it. Children's check-in and event systems operated by third parties are also subject to those providers' policies.

10. Your choices and privacy requests

You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information that Rhythm Church controls, or ask us to stop certain communications. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information when reasonably necessary for legal, accounting, safety, security, or legitimate ministry-record purposes.

You may manage cookies through your browser, unsubscribe using a link in an email, or reply STOP to eligible text messages. Requests involving information controlled by a third-party provider may need to be submitted directly to that provider.

11. Retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including ministry care, administration, accounting, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and security. Retention periods vary depending on the type of record.

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect information. No website, email, text message, database, or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure, however, and you provide information online at your own risk.

12. Third-party services and links

Our website may link to or embed services operated by others, including Church Center or Planning Center, YouTube, Google Maps, and social-media platforms. When you interact with those services, the third party may collect information directly from you and may use cookies or similar technologies. Rhythm Church does not control those services and is not responsible for their privacy practices. Review the provider's policy before submitting information.

13. Processing in the United States

Rhythm Church is based in Kentucky, and information may be stored or processed in the United States by us or our providers. If you access the website from another country, your information may be transferred to a country with different privacy laws than your own.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our ministry, website, providers, or legal obligations change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. Material changes will apply prospectively after the revised policy is posted unless applicable law requires otherwise.
